Sacred Rituals for Radiant Skin:

🌿 What Is Dry Brushing?

Dry brushing, or Garshana in Ayurveda, is an ancient self-care ritual that involves gently brushing the skin with a dry, natural-bristled brush. This practice awakens the lymphatic system, stimulates circulation, and supports gentle detoxification—leaving your skin glowing and your energy grounded.

It’s more than just exfoliation—it’s a sacred daily moment to reconnect to your body with intention.

✨ Ayurvedic Benefits of Dry Brushing

  • 🌬️ Stimulates lymphatic flow (supports immunity + detox)

  • 🔥 Boosts circulation and warms the body—great for sluggish Kapha or stagnant Pitta

  • 🌿 Exfoliates dead skin, leaving your skin soft and renewed

  • 🌈 Activates the marma points and clears stagnant energy

  • 🕊️ Reduces sluggishness, fatigue, and heaviness—especially in transitional seasons

🪶 How to Dry Brush —

The Ritual

Best Time: Morning, before showering

Frequency: 3–5x a week

Tool: A natural bristle brush (avoid synthetic) with or without a handle

Steps:

  1. Begin at the feet and move upward toward the heart

  2. Use long, sweeping strokes on limbs and circular motions on joints

  3. Brush clockwise on the abdomen (follow the direction of digestion)

  4. Use gentle pressure—firm but never irritating

  5. After brushing, shower and apply a calming body oil (like sunflower, coconut, or Earth Essence ritual oils) to lock in moisture and seal the ritual

🌸 Dosha Tips

  • Pitta: Use a soft brush and apply gentle pressure. Follow with cooling oils like coconut infused with rose or sandalwood.

  • Kapha: Use a firm brush and brisk strokes to awaken the body. Follow with warming oils like sesame or ginger-infused oil.

  • Vata: Dry brush less frequently, and always follow with abundant oiling—choose warming, grounding oils like almond or dashmoola.

🌿 Earth Essence Recommends:

💫 Add a few drops of essential oil to your brush handle—try lavender, lemongrass, or eucalyptus.

💫 Pair with affirmations or a mantra as you brush: “I awaken, I release, I renew.”

✨ Make It Yours

Dry brushing is a powerful ritual when done with presence. It’s not about rushing—it’s about remembering. As your brush sweeps away dead skin, so too can you release old energy, stories, and stagnation.
